Bill Bluhm, Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and owner of Bratty and Bluhm Real Estate, offers 42 years of experience as a full-time real estate agent and broker.
Specializing in residential single and multi-family real estate on the Monterey Peninsula, Bill has sold over 500 homes, brokered over four thousand, and garnered a 98% closing record among the escrows he has opened throughout his distinguished career.
Whether it’s a home worth $500,000 or $5 million, buyers and sellers alike find Bill’s depth of knowledge, intuition, and experience an invaluable resource. Along with his innate ability to think out-of-the-box, Bill has built a solid reputation as a mentor and leader in the real estate world.
Bill knows that buying and selling a home is one of life’s most important decisions—and eases the process by guiding you every step of the way. He works diligently with clients and customers, listening to your goals and reasons for selling or purchasing—and then works tirelessly to achieve the desired outcome.
He is an expert in finance and negotiation who has mastered the art of closing the deal. But he also focuses on the details, such as helping you obtain the correct permits; advising you on ways to fix up your home; supervising remodeling, construction, and cosmetic changes; and recommending local contractors, plumbers, landscapers, architects. And even after escrows have closed, he continues to be a valuable consultant whenever you need him.
Bill received a degree in business from Long Beach City College. After obtaining real estate brokers licenses in both Texas and California, he embarked on a lifelong career. Over this time, he’s garnered the distinction of Certified Residential Specialist, a designation awarded to only 4% of real estate agents across the country. In 2005, the Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce named Bratty and Blum Real Estate “Best Service Company.” His dedication to the field is reflected in his role on the Board of Directors of the Monterey County Association of Realtors, where he’s served as president, treasurer, and as the chairman of the arbitration committee; he’s also serving as vice chair of the Pacific Grove Housing Committee and on the Board of the Pacific Grove Improvement District.
Nine years ago, Bill purchased the 50-year-old Bratty Real Estate, a highly regarded full service residential firm with property management. “I felt a real connection with this company and this town,” he says. Since founding Bratty and Bluhm, he’s continued to draw on his decades of experience in effective marketing, investing, communication, and building to help hundreds of people achieve their real estate goals.
Having lived amid the astounding natural beauty of the Pacific Grove area for over 20 years with his wife Helen, a Pacific Grove native, Bill is deeply committed to the community. He has served as Treasurer and President of the Junipero Serra School Parents Club, Vice Chair of the Pacific Grove Business Improvement District, Vice President of the City of Pacific Grove Planning Commission, past President, Treasurer, and Chairman of the Arbitration Committee of the Monterey County Association of Realtors, on the Board of Directors for MLS, the Pacific Grove Housing Committee, and as ombudsman board member of the Monterey County Alliance on Aging. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, real estate investing, and spending time with his seven children and four grandchildren.
